Empowering System-Impacted Youth to Thrive 

Youth Thriving Beyond Bars (YTBB) is a transformative program designed to empower system-impacted youth, ages 12-26, as they navigate life beyond incarceration. Rooted in compassion and driven by a commitment to equity and healing, YTBB provides the tools, resources, and support youth need to overcome barriers, build resilience, and become change agents in their communities.

What we do

YTBB addresses the root causes of justice system involvement by offering a holistic approach to support, including:

  • Case Management: Personalized plans to meet each youth’s unique needs, from housing and education to employment and wellness.

  • Leadership Development: Skill-building workshops, mentorship, and hands-on opportunities to foster confidence, resilience, and advocacy skills.

  • Transformational Healing: Restorative circles, peer support groups, and trauma-informed practices to promote emotional and mental well-being.

Reentry Support: Helping youth successfully reintegrate into their communities with access to vital resources, guidance, and mentorship.

Why It Matters

In San Joaquin County, many youth face systemic challenges such as racial disparities in the justice system, limited access to education and employment, and the lingering effects of trauma. YTBB seeks to break the cycle of incarceration by addressing these issues head-on. Through advocacy, healing-centered approaches, and leadership development, we aim to create a pathway for youth to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
