S.T.A.R. Fellowship Program

The AAAWLC partners with the Office of Violence Prevention to facilitate the Skilled Through Alternative Routes Program (S.T.A.R.). S.T.A.R. Fellowship Program is an innovative initiative dedicated to supporting individuals as they transform their lives, develop essential skills, and build a pathway to meaningful careers. Our program combines mentorship, professional development, and personal growth opportunities to empower participants to achieve their full potential.

Our Mission

The S.T.A.R. Fellowship Program is committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals can rebuild their lives, gain new skills, and unlock opportunities. We focus on fostering personal and professional growth, helping participants overcome barriers, and equipping them with tools for long-term success.

What We Offer

Skill-Building Workshops

Participants engage in interactive workshops designed to develop essential skills, including:

  • Resume writing and interview preparation

  • Financial literacy and credit-building

  • Conflict resolution and mindfulness practices

Restorative Justice Circles

Through our restorative justice circles, participants explore their values, set personal and professional goals, and build resilience. These sessions encourage self-reflection and meaningful dialogue to support personal transformation.

 

Career Readiness Support

We prepare participants for the workforce with:

  • Career assessments to identify strengths and interests

  • Individualized employment readiness plans

  • Partnerships with local businesses and organizations to provide networking opportunities

 

Therapeutic Resources

Recognizing the importance of emotional well-being, we offer:

  • Mindfulness training to manage stress and enhance focus

  • Access to therapeutic counseling for deeper personal growth
