Our Mission

P.O.W.E.R. empowers individuals to become advocates for change in their communities by providing the tools, resources, and support necessary to promote equity, resilience, and justice.

P.O.W.E.R. stands for People Organizing With Equity & Resilience, reflecting our commitment to fostering equitable and resilient communities through education, advocacy, and grassroots action.

Program Focus Areas

School-Based Advocacy

  • Parent and Student Engagement: Supporting families in advocating for equitable access to resources and quality education.

  • Leadership Development: Training students to become leaders and change makers in their schools.

  • Policy Advocacy: Working with schools and districts to address systemic inequities and improve outcomes for all students.

 

Social Justice Advocacy

  • Community Organizing: Building coalitions to address pressing social justice issues, from housing inequities to criminal justice reform.

  • Equity-Focused Initiatives: Centering marginalized voices to create inclusive and sustainable solutions.

  • Awareness Campaigns: Educating the public about social justice issues and mobilizing action.

 

Partnership with the California Black Power Network

  • Organizing for Black Issues: Through our collaboration with the California Black Power Network, we work to amplify Black voices and address issues impacting Black communities.
